The pack is back! We couldn’t be more excited for Teen Wolf: The Movie – which will reunite Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) and most of our favorite residents of Beacon Hills, coming to Paramount+ later this year. HNS was in attendance at the film’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, during which creator Jeff Davis and cast members Tyler Posey and Tyler Hoechlin (Derek Hale) took the stage to debut a trailer and share some secrets about the upcoming movie.

Here are some of the most exciting things we learned from Teen Wolf: The Movie at SDCC:

We Have a Trailer!

Okay, so this isn’t really a thing we learned so much as a gift we were given (“The bite is a gift” throwback, anyone?) by Jeff Davis & Co. There’s a lot to unpack here, but the three big words here are chaos, strife, and pain. Those words, the spooky narrator, and the return of the Oni seem to signify one thing – the Nogitsune is back.

This Big Bad from Season 3B is commonly hailed as one of the series’ best villains, and should also give the movie plenty of opportunity to tie in Stiles Stilinski (who spent most of that season possessed by the Nogitsune). Since Dylan O’Brien has confirmed he will not return as Stiles in the film, this should hopefully give fans a little bit of a Stiles fix. (We also spied his blue Jeep!)

The Nogitsune’s return opens a lot of exciting (and scary) doors for the plot of the film. Will he possess someone else – and if so, who? Will we see more flashbacks to his past inflictions of chaos, strife, and pain?

Allison is Alive

We knew Crystal Reed would be returning for Teen Wolf: The Movie – but now we know for sure (um, we think?) that she is indeed returning as her original character Allison Argent. As a refresher, Allison was killed by an Oni during the Season 3B finale and died in Scott’s arms – the arms of her first love.

While Crystal did return to the show during Season 5, it was in flashback scenes as one of her ancestors. But according to the trailer, it looks like this time Allison is really back.

This wouldn’t be the first time a character has returned from the dead (or the seemingly dead) on Teen Wolf – Kate Argent and Peter Hale come to mind, to name just a few. We’ll just have to wait and see exactly how it all goes down, but it’s sure to be an emotional reunion for many of our favorite characters – especially Scott and Allison’s father, Chris Argent (J.R. Bourne).

There Will Be a Time Jump

We speculated that the movie would have to include a time jump since the casting announcement of Vince Mattis as Eli Hale, Derek’s 15-year-old son. Jeff Davis confirmed the news and shared that for the first time in the history of Teen Wolf, Tyler Posey will be playing Scott McCall older than his actual age.

It sounds like Scott has also made some major life changes between the series finale and where we will pick up in the movie. Posey shared that Scott is in the middle of his quarter life crisis and living in LA – however he’s still working at the vet (some things never change!).

We’ll See a Passing of the Werewolf Torch

Speaking of Eli Hale, Tyler Posey also shared that Scott McCall will pass the torch to Derek’s son at some point during the movie. With the time jump, it seems like Eli Hale will be the new “teen wolf”! We don’t know much about Eli’s character yet – or who his mother is – but look forward to learning more and seeing Dad!Derek in action.

We’re Getting a Spin-Off – Starring Sarah Michelle Geller!

Towards the end of the panel, Jeff Davis teased that if we all watch Teen Wolf: The Movie, there just might be a chance at a spin-off. While of course we planned to do that anyway, it turns out we won’t have to wait that long for news. The new show Wolf Pack is already in production, and will star none other than Sarah Michelle Geller, returning to her hunter roots.

According to the official Teen Wolf newsletter, here’s what Wolf Pack is all about:

Based on the book series by Edo Van Belkom, Wolf Pack follows a teenage boy and girl whose lives are forever changed when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature. Gellar stars as arson investigator Kristin Ramsey, a highly regarded expert in her field and no stranger to personal loss; she’s brought in by authorities to catch the teenage arsonist who started a massive wildfire, which may have also led to the reawakening of a supernatural predator terrorizing Los Angeles.

We can’t wait to learn more about this new series – and whether Scott and other members of his pack will be making an appearance.

It was so great to get back to the pack and the world of Beacon Hills in the Teen Wolf: The Movie panel at Comic-Con. We can’t wait to learn more – especially the release date, ahem – and will eagerly be awaiting the movie’s debut on Paramount+.

In the meantime, you can catch up on your favorite episodes of Teen Wolf on – you guessed it – Paramount+.
