Hollywood News Source was also there to watch the exclusive World Premiere blue carpet event, at the BFI IMAX in London on November 15th, 2021 and the exclusive first few episodes before the series was released worldwide on Amazon’s streaming service on Friday, November 19th. The main cast of The Wheel of Time were present along with the producers and fans of the books. The Wheel of Time fantasy series is based on a series of books first written over 30 years ago by American author Robert Jordan and co-author Brandon Sanderson for the final three novels. The first few episodes are very dark and brutal as the series starts to explain the mythology and origins of the world and slowly weave in the back stories of the ensemble cast. For those familiar with the books of this fantastical world and for those who are not, you will be pleasantly welcomed into a beautifully shot world of magic, beasts, sorcerers, warriors and much more. The TV series is helmed by show-runner/executive producer Rafe Judkins with Rosamund Pike also serving as one of the shows producers.

The Wheel of Time synopsis as detailed on Amazon Prime:

Set in an epic fantasy world, The Wheel of Time follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young villagers, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn… the one who will either save or destroy humanity.

The cast and producers also participated in a Q & A panel (below) after the world premiere on stage to answer some questions about experiences in filming the show, the characters and much more without trying to give away spoilers.

A big thank you to Shannon and Jessica from the PR department for their hard work behind the scenes, in organising and making our attendance of the premiere run smoothly.

The first three episodes of The Wheel of Time premiered on Friday, November 19th on Prime Video, with new episodes available each Friday leading up to the season finale on December 24th.

Season 2 is currently still in production.
