Here is an introduction to some of the new and legacy characters of the TRON universe for TRON: Ares.
ARES
Ares is the perfect defence system program and ultimate soldier created by Dillinger Systems CEO and chief software engineer Julian Dillinger. Named after the Greek god of war, Ares is described as ‘Biblically Strong, lightning fast and supremely intelligent. He is sent to Earth as part of the first group of AI digital beings to meet humans on covert missions, but soon begins to realize that he is far more complex than any digital Artificial Intelligence being that ever existed.
EVE
Eve Kim is the current acting CEO of multi-billion dollar tech company ENCOM. She is the very gifted head video game and software engineer and has continued the work on the popular video game space paranoids Kevin Flynn created. She became CO-CEO with her sister Tess Kim a few years ago when Sam Flynn stepped down from the board. Sadly her sister passed away, and she continues her sister’s philanthropic work and research to honour her legacy for the better of humankind.
ATHENA
Athena is a fierce warrior programme, named after the Greek goddess of wisdom and warfare. She is second in command to Ares in the grid, and loyal to any orders given. But when Ares goes away from the directive of their mission, she will stop at nothing to defeat him and is willing to destroy anybody or anything that gets in her way, by any means necessary.
JULIAN DILLINGER
Dillinger is a very ambitious, talented, egotistical software engineer and hacker who believes he is on the cusp of the greatest weapon and invention in the history of mankind. He wants to change the world but unfortunately he is willing for the cost to be high and damn the consequences.
FLYNN
Kevin Flynn was the video game developer and genius engineer who invented the tech along with friends, fellow engineers Alan Bradley, Lora Baines and founder Dr Walter Gibbs that helped make ENCOM the tech multi-billion dollar giant it is today. His presence and influence in the real and digital world is still felt today.
ELISABETH
The daughter of Edward Dillinger, she has been carrying the burden of keeping the family company Dillinger Systems legacy alive and rebuilding it after her fathers fall from grace in TRON (1982). Keeping her son Julian in check is proving to be harder with his god-like complex and attraction for chaos.
