“A Very Jonas Christmas” Rating: 4.5/5 (Solely based off vibes)

A Very Jonas Christmas” released on Disney+ and Hulu this weekend, and it was just how I assumed it would be: silly, nostalgic, cringy and hilarious. Suffice to say, I absolutely loved it. I am 100% convinced that they weren’t acting at all — this was all pure Joe, Nick and Kevin.

I don’t think I have to mention the fact that this was a musical because, duh. Let’s dig in!

A Very Jonas Christmas

A bro-larious time

This movie was ridiculous, and I say that in the best way. The movie follows the famous boyband that stole all teenage girls’ hearts two decades ago. I will admit that I was not a Jonas Brothers fan until 2019. However, I had the most fun watching this movie. Star-studded, this movie had all the makings of a Christmas movie: romance, Christmas cheer, Will Ferrell as their #1 fan and family time spent together.

Joining the brothers through London, Amsterdam, Germany and then to the United States, we saw the brothers try to get home in time for Christmas with their families. Of course, not without many mishaps and disasters along the way.

My favorite part of the movie was definitely in Amsterdam, especially in the shady hostel with one bed and shoe strings as a door lock. The scene where Nick had a sing-off with Broadway star, Andrew Barth Feldman, had me laughing out loud. A musical about Home Alone where Nick Jonas plays Feldman’s dad (who is only about ten years younger), anyone?! Let’s also not forget a shirtless Joe Jonas jumping into the Amsterdam canals. I must have just missed them filming this movie when I was in Amsterdam last year! DARN IT.

And, of course, it can’t be a Christmas movie without a romance storyline thrown into the mix. Joe, our current bachelor, is sick of his brothers saying he’s a playboy. Unbeknownst to them, Joe runs into his childhood crush while they race against time to make it home. The two reconnect on their journey, and you can guess what happens from there. It was cute.

A Merry Star-Studded Cast

Back to the star-studded cast. Billy Lourde as the heartbroken travel agent was pure comedy. She was a hot mess. Then, we had Will Ferrell as the Jonas Brothers’ number one fan and kind of a stalker. It was hilarious and some of the funniest scenes from the movie. K.J. Apa also had his time to shine as Lourde’s ex-boyfriend who was taking thirst trap selfies to send to his ex…while flying the Jonas Brothers on his plane. Other stars include Chloe Bennet, Andrew Barth Feldman, Jessie Tyler Ferguson as Santa, Kenny G and more.

Other musings from “A Very Jonas Christmas”

🎄 Nick telling Joe he can’t describe something using the word “fire” because he is 36 was so funny and true…Sorry!

🎄 “And then I was in a plane crash…with this beautiful man. He took his shirt off. He’s very handsome.” Otherwise known as the best line of the whole movie said by Joe.

🎄 Their actual families being in the movie was very sweet.

🎄 Kevin is still the purest soul to ever exist.

🎄 Seriously, this movie isn’t supposed to be serious, right? They definitely did it as a silly joke. IT HAS TO BE A JOKE. (I loved it regardless.)

🎄 The end credits where Will Ferrell was at yet another Jonas Brothers concert crying was the only way the movie could have ended.

Overall, I had so much fun watching this movie! It was cute, funny and so nostalgic. It was like if “Camp Rock” and “Jonas L.A.” had a baby during Christmastime. This was the perfect kickoff to the holiday season.
