Wet is certainly a band wasting no time making big “splashes” in the ocean of indie pop music. With their first full-length album, “Don’t You”, released earlier this year and the announcement of a fall tour with Demotaped, there is no question that this group is on the rise.

Hollywood News Source had a chance to see Wet perform recently when they were on tour with The 1975 and at Firefly Music Festival in Dover, DE.

We were especially drawn to the hauntingly beautiful vocals of lead singer/songwriter, Kelly Zutrau. So we were very excited when Kelly took to Twitter to announce she would be playing a solo show at Brooklyn’s intimate National Sawdust (N 6th and Wythe Ave.) as part of their “Selkie Series” on August 24th at 10pm. According to the National Sawdust’s website:

The Selkie Series is an annual summer series featuring critically-acclaimed female performance artists, musicians, and visual artists all under thirty. An ongoing discussion on sexuality, femininity & an understanding of the self through every medium of performance & visual media.

Kelly will perform songs from the band’s current LP, “Don’t You”, as well as some new unreleased material in what the National Sawdust calls “her most stripped down performance to date.” Recently, she released an EP of demos of the songs from “Don’t You.” This EP is dubbed “Don’t You (Autoharp Demos)” for the raw nature of the songs, featuring only Kelly and her autoharp. Here is audio of “All the Ways (Autoharp Demo)” that will give you an idea of what to expect from the August 24th show:

You can also stream the entire EP here. Unfortunately, HNS won’t be able to attend Kelly’s show, but if you live in or will be visiting NYC on the 24th we HIGHLY recommend that you check it out! Visit the National Sawdust’s website to buy tickets to Kelly’s show and to see more of the great entertainment they and the “Selkie Series” have to offer. You can also follow Wet on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat. We will keep you up-to-date on Kelly and the band here at HNS as well!
