‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Season 2 to Return in April

Variety reports, Fear the Walking Dead season 2 is set to return on April 10th. You can read the details below.

“Fear the Walking Dead” will return with its second season on Sunday, April 10 at 9 p.m.

The premiere date was revealed Friday at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif., during AMC’s session.

The 15-episode season will be split into two parts with the first seven episodes airing in the spring, starting in April, and the back half airing later in 2016.

For its first season, “Fear the Walking Dead” — which is, of course, “The Walking Dead” spinoff — had the highest-rated freshman season in cable history, averaging 11.2 million viewers for its six-episode run. When the series was greenlit in early 2015, it was handed a two-season order with a short six-episode run for to kick off and then 15 episodes for its sophomore return.

This fall, in conjunction with flagship series’ sixth season, a 16-part web companion series for “Fear,” titled “Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462,” launched, bridging the gap between “The Walking Dead” Season 6 and “Fear’s” second season.

Come April, “Fear” will be immediately followed by the hugely popular Chris Hardwick-hosted after show “Talking Dead” Sunday nights at 10 p.m.

In addition to the premiere dates for “Fear” and “Talking Dead,” AMC also announced at TCA that the six-part miniseries “The Night Manager,” starring Tom Hiddleston an Hugh Laurie, will premiere Tuesday, April 19 at 10 p.m., and “Turn: Washington’s Spies” will return with Season 3 on Monday, April 25 at 10 p.m.

As previously announced, “Walking Dead” returns with the remaining episodes of its sixth season on Sunday, Feb. 14. With the pair of shows, AMC is able to spread the franchise’s brand around the year — an important scheduling move for the cabler, as anything “Walking Dead” related is a ratings and social media win.
