NBC has surprised us with a renewal for their urban fantasy drama Midnight, Texas.
Midnight, Texas is based on the trilogy of the same name by Charlaine Harris who has previously seen her books, Southern Vampire Mysteries (Sookie Stackhouse) and Aurora Teagarden adapted for TV.
In Midnight, Texas, being normal is strange and only outsiders fit in. It’s a mysterious safe haven for those who are different — a perfect place for anyone looking to hide from the outside world.
Due to the long wait for a renewal however there will be some changes when the show returns. Likely due to that long wait actor deals may have lapsed resulting in Sarah Ramos and Yul Vazquez no longer being season regulars. Ramos played Creek Lovell and Vazquez played the Rev, it is hoped that the two will be able to reprise their roles as guest stars next season.
Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder, who served as consulting producers on Season 1 under their overall deal at Uni TV, have been named executive producers and the new showrunners.
