Deadline reports, Melissa de la Cruz has signed a three film development and production deal. It’s set to be a TV project to be broadcast on Christmas 2017.
The first film titled ‘Angel Falls’ will star Witches of East End’s Rachel Boston while Bradley Walsh is attached to direct. They’re aiming it for a potential series. The story follows, “a fallen angel who falls in love and wins back her halo during the Christmas season.” Hallmark Channel will broadcast it while De la Cruz will write the script and the novel.
The second film is titled ‘Pride, Prejudice, and Mistletoe,’ an upcoming retelling of classic Jane Austen’s. St. Martin’s Press will publish it on Christmas 2017. In addition, the production is set to start on April 2017 while De la Cruz would also write the script and novel.
The last film is called ‘Nanny State.’ The plot follows, “the story of an FBI agent who goes undercover working for New York’s finest families to solve a child’s kidnapping during the Christmas holidays.” De la Cruz will write the screenplay and co-produce.
