Jeremy Irons and Matthias Schoenaerts Cast in ‘Red Sparrow’

Variety reports, Jeremy Irons and Matthias Schoenaerts are joining the cast of spy thriller film ‘Red Sparrow.’

The film is based on the novel of Jason Matthews by the same title. Justin Haythe was attached to rewrite the script of Eric Warren Singer. You can read below what the book entails.

The book is set in modern-day Russia in the intelligence bureaucracy with a young woman drafted against her will to become a “sparrow,” a trained seductress assigned to operate against a first-tour CIA officer who handles the agency’s most sensitive penetration of Russian intelligence. The two young intelligence officers fall into a spiral of attraction and deception that results in her leading life as a double agent.

Also starring Jennifer Lawrence and Joel Edgerton, Red Sparrow is set to release on Nov. 10, 2017.
